Chocolate chip cookies

We had a church picnic yesterday. I enjoy making seasonal dishes so I was all for making a big pan of peach crisp but Christopher requested chocolate chip cookies. Peaches are not his favorite. This was the first time I've tried making cookies from Sally's Baking Addiction and following all her instructions exactly, even reading her entire blog post on

room temperature butter

They turned out pretty well, I think. They all got eaten, anyway, which was gratifying. This recipe was a little bit more work than my usual method but not too much. The only thing that would stop me from making them this way every time is if I didn't have time to chill the dough.

Finished cookies

A friend from church told me she rolls the dough into a log and slices it like those frozen Pilsbury cookies to make the size more uniform so I think I might try that next time.

Here is the recipe I used.
